Before his infamous research into boxes, Skinner developed missiles that were targeted by pigeons inside, poking at two buttons for a guidance system. Apparently, the birds were incredibly accurate, and it took technology a few more decades to come to speed.

Moral: War technology is powered by incredibly stupid ideas. ^^
