Would you happen to know why Peter's name was pronounced "Kephah"? I don't think it was just in Passion. Were there alternate variations, or is it just transliterated strangely?

See the note on the final Panel. Peter was called Kephah or Cephas by his contemporaries(I need to correct the spelling in the text). It means "rock." I'm not sure in which of the languages that was being spoken at the time, but I think greek. Peter was derived from Latin for "rock."

Oh, I already knew that much. I just wondered if a word spelled Cephas really was pronounced with a hard C and a silent S, since that would suggest a need for a new system of transliteration. I thought maybe "Kephah" was the pronunciation of a slight variation.

Hard 'C' - Yes. Not sure about the S because that could be either a difference in declension (perhaps one is nominative and another accusative) or, given the stuff Gibson was doing, it may have been an Aramaicization of the greek word.
