In the Cat-Tharsis forums, Tim Tylor has unearthed this little gem telling us the fate of Violet and other Willy Wonka characters:

Chocolypse Now

It's sort of a Roald Dahl meets Joseph Conrad to co-author a screenplay for Stanley Kubrick kinda thing. Have fun!

I loved the Edward Gorey references, too.

Man, thank God I finally SAW that movie a year ago with [livejournal.com profile] dingus23 and [livejournal.com profile] fuzzybearca. All those references, not the least of which was "The horror, the horror!" finally made sense after all those years.

Did you ever see The Gashlycrumb Labgoats (http://labgoats.com/?date=20031008) series?

Glad to be of service. :) I got it from Scott McCloud's blog (http://www.scottmccloud.com/comics/mi/mi.html), which is a lootable treasure-ship of great comics/cartoon-strip links.

I hate to admit it, but I still haven't seen Apocalypse Now. I've seen the Wonka film though, and the sight of Violet turning blue and inflating seriously put the wind up me as a child. I think I expected her to do the Mr Creosote thing.

FYI: Roald Dahl did write a sequel to the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory book (no connection with Chocolypse), picking up from the point at which the glass elevator went through the roof and continuing the tale of that busy day, involving unpleasant space-aliens, the White House, and a visit to a sort of chilly pre-natal Hell. I've never heard of it being filmed.
