I didn't expect the informality of "Thanks for the heads up." I guess I should be glad for these things: they keep the story fresh.

I don't expect that people actually spoke to each other in the stentorian tones of most bible translations. For that reason, unless people are orating or engaging in formal interactions, I tend to use less formal language.
