[livejournal.com profile] morgan1 and I are pleased to announce the debut of our Graphic Novel project, The Last Days of Yeshua HaNozri: A Tale of Appeasement.

Basically, it is a passion story that endeavors to explore the political dynamics that culminated in the crucifixion of Jesus. It was conceived as a response to Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ," but will have additional dimensions as well.

I'm doing the writing and lettering, Morgan is doing the artwork. It is in graphic novel format. The medium is ink and watercolor with computer lettering. The production schedule is a page every two weeks (like Spellshocked was, and for much the same reason -- Morgan is taking a fine-art approach to the illustration, this is not just ink-and-wash).

Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] makovette for providing us with space on his marvelous Hi Rez Fox server. Seeing as Morgan's watercolor rendering deserves not to be compressed into a mosaic of artifacts, I have thoroughly embraced the HRF philosophy with image files weighing in at ~200K and 1000 X 1500 pixels, more or less.

Major kudos are also due [livejournal.com profile] tegeran, whose eminently configurable AutoFox Spirit runs the whole show, and who had a minor bug I unearthed fixed in minutes. AutoFox was a delight to configure and use, the absolute antithesis to dealing with anything Keen*. Good show!

You guys are more than welcome - I'm totally jazzed to be able to host this work for you. I hope it becomes a smash hit and I have to upgrade my 'net pipe size yet again as a result :-D

Teg rocks and Captain Spam rolls - Autofox is the shiznit for the way I like to run my server, I'm pleased that you found it to be as useful as I have.

Indeed, where art is concerned, Bigger is indeed Better!

Good luck on this project. The themes you listed in your writeup sound compelling. Morgan's art was evokative.

Excellent idea. I applaud your actions to counteract Gibson's historically inaccurate and bigoted work, especially as I think they probably have the potential to do more than most people have managed to do in response to this movie. Education can sometimes be the most powerful antidote to the propogation of mistruth.
