I guess I should say that I don't deny that Garfield has become (or maybe it always was) the pinnacle of mediocrity. However, in a mediocre America where mediocre is the key to success (ergo Jack-in-the-Box and Clay Aiken) it's still more popular than I could ever hope to be.

I won't dumb down for America, but it would be nice if America would smarten up for me. (Geez, do I sound egotistical or what?)

When I was a child, and appalled by the childish behavior of the other children, I told myself, "just grit your teeth and bear it, sooner or later everyone else will grow up." I'm still waiting. So I guess I can join you in the "egotistical" camp. ;)
