I don't understand your last part. Where do Jews come in? Why do you ask that, and not "Where do Mormons come in?"
A number of years ago, when I was working an a major Minnesota manufacturer, we were studying products for PC Migration. We examined three, and one was from a firm out of Orem, Utah. We were doing product testing trials, and each company sent engineers for trial runs.
After the Orem Company's trial run, the reps took us out to lunch. The tech engineer I was sitting near was a devout Mormon.
We were talking about Harry Potter, and the distinction between doing what was right and what was lawful. The rep then piped up with "Yeah, like why the Jews killed Jesus."
I just sort of let it hang there. I asked him if he really thought that ALL the Jews could have fit into Pilate's courtyard, and if he really thought the Roman authorities had no interest in killing Jesus. I then recommended that he read Wylen's The Jews in the Time of Jesus so he could get something other than LDS tripe into his head. Then I told him that I am Jewish.
He was falling all over himself, no doubt believing that his utterance had cost his company the sale.
Truth is, I had decided against the product before the conversation took place, chiefly because it used a proprietary scripting language that could not be dynamically modified, and also because it did not get along well with Windows Installer.
And that, my friend, is the tale of Harry Potter and the Jew-Hating Mormon.
I didn't ask about Mormons because (1) I was being succinct and (2) I doofily assumed that you meant Rowling was a Mormon. Very unlikely for a Brit, and one who says she doesn't believe in prophecy.
I wouldn't make the inference from a single Mormon. I know from the RCC that one can hardly know a faith from a single layman. And it occurs to me that "The Romans killed Jesus" need not mean all Romans, just the ones involved. But you're probably right about him hating Jews.
From what I hear, Mormons have a disproportionate history of white supremacy. Persisting anti-Jewish sentiment would hardly surprise me.
