The anniversary passed by unnoticed. But anyway, I ganked this meme that [livejournal.com profile] mud_in_your_eye seems to have made an annual tradition of.

1. Your LiveJournal "username" & what it means: richardf8. It's just something that was assingned to me as a unique username at the NYT Site when richardf was taken. I use it pretty universally.

2. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your LiveJournal represent who you actually are? Well, I don't play at being someone other than myself in it, but I also don't disclose everything in it. So probably 8.

3. How much about your life do you post to LiveJournal? I'll only do that if its amusing or edifying. I'm not out to document every bathroom visit.

4. Is there anything you refuse to post about? Yes.

5. On a scale of 1-10, how interesting do you think your own journal is to others? I would guess it varies. I would say it averages about a 7.

6. From who/how did you find out about LiveJournal? I found out about it from [livejournal.com profile] rain_luong, joined on an ivite from [livejournal.com profile] kevinjdog.

7. Has anyone ever joined lj because of you? I invited my SO [livejournal.com profile] morgan1 and [livejournal.com profile] deckardcanine received some prodding from me when the invite system was gone.

8. What proportion of your posts are friends only? Probably about 6%. Mostly I do it in cases where I need to reach specific people with info that is no one elses business.

9. What is your favorite interest on LiveJournal? I don't really use them. Probably Comics/Webcomics

10. Has anything on LiveJournal ever caused you to establish, re-think, or even change your belief or position on something? Yes. Or maybe it was George W. Bush that changed my mind. I used to oppose Gay Marriage on the basis that the state's involvement in marriage at all is problematic and that the establishment of Gay Marriage would only more deeply entrench that. But as the debate got underway, it became apparent that those who opposed gay marriage were doing so out of a simple homophobia, and that the side which favored Gay Marriage was the side of social justice, and the side that opposed it was the side of entrenched bigotry.

11. How often do you respond / comment on other people's journals? They can't believe I won't shut up!

12. Do you prefer to write in your journal or read other journals? Writing in my own; but I spend more time reading others because I often find myself in positions where I do not have the block of quiet time to write a thoughtful entry.

13. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on LiveJournal (or did it to someone else)? I try to avoid it. But I have been banned in Conservatism. I flamed them when they were gloating in an unseemly manner about the California Supreme Court's decision to reverse Newsom's marriages.

14. Have you ever banned someone from your journal? Not Yet.

15. Who is your favorite LiveJournal friend and why? This is just a question that BEGS to get some drama rolling, and as such will remain unanswered.

16. How many of your LJ friends have you actually met? 1

17. Of all of the people on LJ you know of, who is the most like you?
I couldn't begin to guess.

18. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list? I do a fair number of reciprocal adds. I also add people if their Journal strikes me as the sort of thing that reading would make me happy.

19. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first? I generally scan their journal first. I won't and folks that are to angsty, although I will pop over to their journals from time to time to keep up with them.

20. What is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list? Their Journal does not meet the standar of question 18.

21. Is your "significant other" on LiveJournal? Yep.

22. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on LJ? Most of the folks on my friends list.

^^
Actually, when I first saw your username, I thought it was a clever Shakespeare reference!
Perhaps that you were the eighth "richardf" is significant, maybe?

...Well, just don't pull a Dubya, and you should be ok.
