I saw The Last Temptation of Christ a long time ago, as a video rental. Despite Willem DaFoe's rather clumsy Jesus, I found the final premise rather moving. I think the premise the fundamentalists were upset about was that Jesus was tempted at all, let alone that he could fall victim to it for a moment.
