Various and Sundry

Been a while since I've done an entry. Now that I'm listening to Air America, I feel more relaxed -- I know that I'm not alone in my outrage. This has had a good calming effect on me, and I've been less combative as a result. Last weekend I put new back stairs on the house. Lumber is not cheap. Remarkably, pulling a design out of my own head, I managed to produce something serviceable and a damn sight solider than what they replaced. I've been plunging a lot of time and resources into home improvement this year, and the house does look better for it. Compact Fluorescent bulbs don't, however, much like living in motion-detection sockets. This has all also been giving me growing confidence in my abilities, and that's good, because there's lots of stuff I want to do inside the house as well. My kitchen and some repairs to a wall in my living room. I got next weeks strips lettered last night, and I will be pencilling and inking this weekend. It might also be nice to get the solo canoes on the water.

Oh and Mako, my boss and a co-worker were just standing around gawking at that McLaren you posted, and then my boss noticed your LJ-Icon, and wanted to see your 'Vette, so it was off to caspeed and further gawking ensued.
