Damn.

My house was broken into. Needless to say, my inking time has been cut into sharply, and I will not have a strip up tonight.

Both of my laptops are gone -- I guess the desktops were too cumbersome -- as well as an amp. They tried to get my synth and mixing board, but seem to have been surprised. Thankfully the PC on which I do my strip production was left alone.

However my web-site design box/staging server is gone along with the notebook I do most of my writing and surfing on. Damn. The strip-related data is all on my ISP, so that's good. There are however some shell scripts I'm going to have to rewrite when I find a box to build. Damn.

I am so sorry :(

I hope they get your stuff back. I absolutely detest crap like this (like anyone really enjoys it). :( :( :(

Phuuuuck :-(

I am so sorry to hear that Richard, damn. I hope the sumbitches don't return for the rest of your stuff.

Ask Johnny Law how many other houses have been hit in the area, it's not at all uncommon for a couple of low lifes to work over a neighborhood... :(

Holy cow, I'm really sorry about that. :( Losing the stuff is bad enough; that feeling of being violated is even worse. I hope the police are able to recover it soon.

I hope nothing of any important sentimental value was lost. Perhaps insurance will cover the equipment stolen.

I'm selfishly glad to hear that your strip production computer is unharmed. ^^

Hope you feel better- and hope the lousy homewreckers fall on an icepick.

Thanks, I didn't know you read it. :)

This is why you don't judge a book by its cover. Or an LJ user by its... um... ... *doesn't know how to finish analogy* ... *trails off. into the sun.*

I am greatly chagrined at this, and you have my sincere hopes that you are able to recover quickly.

Be thankful only for that last part -- for if they had stolen it, you'd MISS it and probably want to get it back. ]:-/

No. But I remember when there was a trash strike at Christmas time, and folks would wrap their trash with gay paper and bow in their unlocked cars. The problem went away.

That really stinks. >:( I'm sorry to hear that.

You are a master of composure, sir.

A violation of your personal space by wickedness.... arrrrgh I say! ;P

I certainly wish you the best of possible solutions, and you are more than welcome to a virtual hug/wingpat if you need.

The burglary rate has gone up in my DC neighborhood, or at least moved closer to my house. After seeing six cop cars on the next block, I received an email warning to keep everything secure and watch out for a scam artist of disappointingly sparse description. (Apparently the witnesses don't know the color of his hair, skin, or eyes, tho they say he has a very suspicious look about him.)

I'm sorry to hear about this! I've never had someone break in to my house, but I interrupted someone trying to steal our truck. They'd broken in and were in the process of disabling the starter. I started screaming at them to stop, and they nearly ran me over trying to get away. Bastards. My husband was so pissed he could barely speak. I think the thing that got him was that HE wouldn't do this to anyone else; why someone would do it for him was incomprensible.

Anyway, here's hoping all the equipment gets replaced with new stuff and it doesn't ruin your opinion of mankind in general.
