So what if the test is "for girls only?"

The questions were relevant, the result accurate:

You are Barefoot!

You're a total free spirit, go with the flow girl

You can't be restricted by shoes for very long

And unsuprisingly, the same goes for men

Your match is out there - and he's as carefree as you are

I regard shoes as oppression, but will pay up to $100.00 for a good, comfy, lightweight pair (how I miss my poor, dead, Vasque hikers). Unless I need them for warmth, they come off the moment I'm in the door.

oppression, not protection? :D

Most Japanese businessmen and most hippies don't agree on most things, but given that both agree on shoes, I think you, they and I may be on to something.

Sorry for the intrusion, but I just remembered that you were the only person on [livejournal.com profile] weirdjews who supported my idea about the need for Jewish self-sufficiency and self-protection (http://community.livejournal.com/weirdjews/1593436.html?thread=25408092#t25408092).

I have just set up an experimental community where these things will be discussed in depth, so I thought you might want to have a look at it:
[livejournal.com profile] nationalistjews. I do hope you won't be scared off by my rather hardcore anti-Judaism though (I can see you are a devout religious Jew) - it's Jewish self-protection that is the common denominator of Jewish nationalism as I see it.

If the article you posted is the creed of your community, I doubt I'll be joining it

Our community, our understanding of JN is very much a work in progress and I hope it will be influenced by Jews of all stripes, not just myself. The creed, the uniting platform of JN is stated in the userinfo:

"The optimal structure of the Jewish nation around the world is a decentralised network of democratically run, armed, secular communities of kinsmen."

Everything beyond that, like my personal mistrust of Judaism, is a matter of personal opinion, not of official 'creed': of course some Jews can and will be religious, some even deeply so, what matters is that Judaism should not be the umbrella term for Jewishness because that would exclude other Jews, as it often does now. Everyone should be free to practice their religion - what I am against is the idea of a theocracy. In fact, my national-anarchist idea of the Jewry would recognise things like Obadiah Shoher's project of splitting Israel into two allied but distinct Jewish brother-states, the religious Judea and the secular Israel.

You see, what we are simply unhappy about the fact that the Jewry today is split along ideological and 'metaphysical' lines: secular and religious, Zionist and Anti-zionist - I think this may even be done on purpose (pardon my conspiracy thinking) to prevent the Jews from developing a powerful single identity. And so we have started developing JN as an experimental creed that would unite, not alienate Jews, - again, every one has their different perception of who is a Jew, but I think blood may well serve as the basis for defining the CORE of our nation. I do not mean we should exclude anyone from the Jewry, whether by blood or religion - after all, there's only 16 million of us, so we need new people. It's normal for any nation that on its periphery there'll be people of a distinct ancestry but still seen as a part of a nation - in our case, the converts - but blood, I think, is the most powerful criterion to unite the CORE of the nation.

It may be that the article needs re-writing to make it slightly more moderate and less offensive to religious Jews - but note that we have only started. The community will certainly be very experimental, often eccentric, and is not for those easily offended - there will be a wealth of counter-cultural material, conspiracy theories, deconstruction of the traditional Jewish identity, discussions on militias and paramilitary groups, etc. It is not designed as a project for the masses, but as a sort of experimental think-tank for people who believe that a nation can only survive by constantly re-defining itself. So if you are at all interested, do join - you don't have to share all of our views. In any case, thanks a lot for your detailed reply!
