I read over the NYT article and several of the related links. The bottom line, to me, is that Gibson has a right to spend his money and say whatever he wants to say. The mere fact that he went on Bill O'Reilly to complain about criticized is going to make me thing 3 or 4 times before I spend seven bucks and three hours of my life on a movie. And it’s going to be in Aramaic and Latin without subtitles? Well, every Catholic boy (like me) knows the story intimately anyway. The Stations of the Cross are hanging from the walls of every Catholic Church.

And its interesting that Gibson is a Traditionalist Catholic as opposed to a Roman Catholic. Every one of those guys I’ve run into personally is a wide-eyed loony. I need to look and see if Traditionalist priests can marry. That would explain his character in Signs – a movie I liked, BTW. Yeah, I know Epispocal/Anglican priests can marry, but somehow Gibson's character in that movie didn't play that way.
